Optimal Loading of ANZ Netball Players and correlation with injuries:

Purpose: The purpose of the role is to study the dynamic loading of elite netballers in the Magic Netball Team, analyse the data and make recommendations to the Sports Science staff.  This is a role for an Intern ideally a physiotherapist Masters  level Student at Waikato University.Role details: This is a voluntary role based in Hamilton at Waikato University.  You will contribute to the data collection and physical performance analysis insights across the Magic Netball team.. As part of the role you will work closely with the sports science staff and assistant coach to facilitate the collection and analysis of information.

Specific responsibilities:

  • Daily Load Monitoring (every training session recorded on APP and loaded onto Google Drive)

  • Wellness Scores (entered via APP and used to screen soreness/fatigue with relation to training loads)

  • Functional Testing (sit and reach and knee to wall – recorded 1st court session post game and

court session pre game)

  • Injury Collection – daily screening of injuries collected by Magic Physiotherapist

  • Provide recommendations and guidance for “load management” of players
