The Netball Waikato Bay of Plenty Zone (NWBOP) is committed to leading the growth and development of our game through Poipoia – Netball in New Zealand’s strategic framework.

Our goal is to connect with all people of all ages; to promote the game of netball; develop and upskill players; stage and manage events; support the courage, drive, and aspirations of young people to succeed and reach their potential, not only in playing but in all facets of the game.

There are approximately 27,000 netballers, coaches, umpires, and officials located throughout the regions of Waikato, Bay of Plenty and Gisborne. NWBOP Zone connects and works with 23 Netball Centres and participants throughout the Zone to support and develop the delivery network for Netball to meet the needs of local communities.

About the Role
This is a part-time role (30 – 35 hours) to be negotiated with the successful applicant

The purpose of this role is to support the administration of the Netball Waikato Bay of Plenty Zone including financial and administrative support to ensure accurate and timely processing of transactions, compliance with company policies, administrative support for key operational areas, and undertake specific community projects as directed from time to time.

Your key priorities will include:

  • Finance Support – Accounts Payable and Accounts receivable inputting.  Funding application support and preparing accountability reports.  Assisting with month end activities and point of contact for vehicles
  • Membership Administration – Collate membership returns for members, manage administrative tasks for constitutional members, including documents and processes required by the Incorporated Societies Act. Manage delivery of AGM’s and service award nominations
  • Community Projects – Manage the coordination of the Netball Ambassador programme and Centre applications for Special Projects, and other community projects as needed.
  • General Administration Support – Manage sharepoint and team files, Zone calendar, newsletter database, administrative support to key operational areas, manage resources, contact lists, databases and Zone website

About You
We’re looking for someone with:

  • 1-3 years in a similar role, with basic accounting principles. Able to enter and process financial data with high attention to detail. Grant application and accountability experience
  • Ability to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly. Competence in reconciling accounts and spotting errors.
  • Familiarity with accounting software and MS Excel
  • Excellent planning, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Strong time management and ability to prioritise tasks.  Able to work both independently and in a team
