In order to continue the development of services to the Centres, the Netball Waikato Bay of Plenty Zone Board has confirmed the membership fees for 2019.
A small increase of 1.9% (NZ Statistics September Quarter CPI figure) to reflect the NZ Consumer Price Index measure of annual inflation, has been added to in-season team and individual fees (rounded up or down to the nearest whole dollar for team fees and to the nearest 5/10 cents for the individual fees), while all social or recreational activity fees have been dropped completely.
After discussions at the 2018 Zone AGM it was clear that almost all centres were running some sort of social or recreational netball activity, however only five centres registered these and paid fees.
With these social fees now non-existent, Netball WBOP are hoping to work alongside all centres and get an accurate record, to get a true gauge of the depth of netball in the Zone.
To apply the zero fee rate, a Centre’s social/recreational league must meet at least one of the following criteria:
- Be out of the regular netball season, which is deemed to be 1 March – 30 September (i.e. netball off-season of 1 October – 28 February)
- Be a modified version of the game (Fast5, beach netball, walking netball, mixed gender etc.)
- Be less than 4 weeks in duration – Fees not applicable to one off or short-duration events and tournaments (e.g. over 1-2 days/weekends)
