WAIBOP Matarau closed out their 2025 season in style, securing a well deserved 64–56 victory over Southern Blast in Invercargill. Despite technical issues at the score bench causing confusion between the stadium scoreboard and Champion Data stats - only resolved three quarters into the game - the team stayed composed and focused throughout.

Monday 2nd June
WAIBOP Matarau’s third clash of the season saw them take on Comets in a thrilling, hard fought battle that came down to the final whistle.
WAIBOP Matarau took the court for their second match of the season against a tough Mainland side at Claudelands Arena. It was a shaky start, with the team losing their first centre pass and quickly trailing 4–1. Despite a few strategic changes, Matarau ended the first quarter down 8–15.

After a smooth flight into Palmerston North, the Matarau girls arrived eager and energised to open their season against a strong Central Manawa side. With clear game plans in place and the team buzzing with anticipation, they hit the court with purpose and passion.
